Dua دعاء

Before eating

بِسْمِ ٱللَّٰهِ

In the name of Allah.

After eating

ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّٰهِ ٱلَّذِي أَطْعَمَنَا وَسَقَانَا وَجَعَلَنَا مُسْلِمِينَ

Praise be to Allah who fed us, gave us drink and made us Muslims.

Before sleeping

بِٱسْمِكَ ٱللَّٰهُمَّ أَمُوتُ وَأَحْيَا

In Your name, O Allah, I die and I live.

Upon waking

ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّٰهِ ٱلَّذِي أَحْيَانَا بَعْدَ مَا أَمَاتَنَا وَإِلَيْهِ ٱلنُّشُورُ

Praise be to Allah who gave us life after death, and to Him is the return.

Leaving home

بِسْمِ ٱللَّٰهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَى ٱللَّٰهِ وَلَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِٱللَّٰهِ

In the name of Allah, I trust in Allah; there is no power except with Allah.

For travel

سُبْحَانَ ٱلَّذِي سَخَّرَ لَنَا هَٰذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لَهُ مُقْرِنِينَ وَإِنَّا إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا لَمُنقَلِبُونَ

Glory to Him who subjected this to us, which we could not have done ourselves, and to our Lord we will return.

For parents

رَّبِّ ٱرْحَمْهُمَا كَمَا رَبَّيَانِي صَغِيرًا

My Lord, have mercy on them as they raised me when I was small.

For good in both worlds

رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي ٱلدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي ٱلْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ ٱلنَّارِ

Our Lord, give us good in this world and the Hereafter, and protect us from the Fire.

For knowledge

رَّبِّ زِدْنِي عِلْمًا

My Lord, increase me in knowledge.

For forgiveness

أَسْتَغْفِرُ ٱللَّٰهَ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ

I seek Allah's forgiveness and turn to Him in repentance.
